Webber’s oil paintings are created with a merging of traditional Asian and classic European schools of painting. The completed paintings are seventy to one hundred layers of pure earth pigment, subtle color washes and delicate oil glazes. Traditional materials such as vine charcoal, powdered mineral and earth pigments, ink and handmade oil formulas are used to produce paintings that are luminous, multidimensional, and light interactive. Webber prefers natural elements for their superior practical applications as well as for their metaphysical properties. The process is an alchemical blending of materials, light and intent. Touching Earth invites the viewer to discover recent works in beautiful, full-color plates with insightful writings by the artist.
